IHC discharges contempt of court case against Imran Khan

 








The five-member larger bench of IHC discharged the contempt of court case against Imran khan. IHC accepted Imran's apology & expressed its satisfaction over Imran's conduct.

Previously, Imran Khan was booked under contempt of court charges for hurling threats at a female judge on August 20th at F9 Park in Islamabad.

On September 20th, Imran Khan appeared before IHC to tender an apology but finding about Zeba Chaudary's absence he directed the people to convey his apology.

IHC ruled his apology unsatisfactory and Imran's arrest warrant surfaced on 1st October, then Imran's interim bail was issued by IHC on 2nd October.

On Monday, this contempt of court case saga came to an end. When a larger IHC bench headed by Justice Athar Minallah and compromised of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kay­ani, Miangul Hassan Aur­an­gzeb, Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, and Babar Sattar, passed a unanimous judgment on the case. The IHC discharged the contempt of court case against Imran Khan. 

Imran Khan had submitted an affidavit assuring that he would "never do anything in future" that would hurt the prestige of any court or any judiciary.
